Qualification

 

If you have completed your studies well up to 12th and you have also done graduation then you can become a CBI officer.

To appear in this exam, you need to have a Graduation degree.

 

Age Limit

 

The age of the candidate should be between 20 to 27 years. For the students coming in SC and ST categories, the age of the candidate is between 20 to 32 years.

 

Physical Criteria 

 

The male candidate should have a Height of 157.5 Cm and a Chest of 81 Cm while the Female candidate’s Height should be 152 Cm and Weight should be 48 Kg.

 

The male candidate has to complete running 1600 meters in 15 minutes and cycling 8 Km in 30 minutes while the Female candidate has to complete running 1000m in 20 minutes and cycling 3 Km in 25 minutes.

 

CBI Officer Recruitment

 

CBI adopts two different methods for recruitment to its posts.

 

The first is direct recruitment which is done through SSC and the other is through Deputation. Going to CBI on Deputation means that if you are in Central or State Police or another essential service then you can go to CBI.

 

Direct recruitment in CBI is only for the rank of Sub Inspector or Inspector and this recruitment is done by SSC for this, which conducts the CGL exam every year.

What is the Exam Pattern Of CBI?

 

You have to apply for CGL (Combined Graduate Level) exam. There are two levels of the CGL exam which are called Pre and Mains.

 

In the Pre Exam, you are asked questions related to four subjects.

2. General Awareness

 

3. Numerical Aptitude

 

4. English Comprehension

 

100 questions are asked in the Pre Exam of CGL. There is a negative marking in the exam and you get 1 hour time.

 

After passing both the Pre and Mains exam, there is a Descriptive Paper (Essay Or Letter Writing) Which is Offline (Pen and Paper Mode) then you are called for the Interview and after passing the Interview, you can select as a CBI officer.

CGPE (Combined Graduate Preliminary Exam) is conducted every year by MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) for the Intelligence Bureau Assistant Central Intelligence (IB ACIO) post of the IB Department.
