What is NEFT?

NEFT is such a facility that can be transferred money from one bank to another very easily and securely. It was started by RBI in the year 2005.

What Is The Meaning Of NEFT

Friends, there are many third-party applications in the market such as Google Pay, Paytm, Phone Pay, etc. Through which you can transfer money.

But let me tell you that if you transfer money through a third-party application, then there is a limitation, you can transfer only ₹ 10000 or ₹ 20000 in 1 day but if you use NEFT then You can pay from ₹ 1 to a maximum of 10 lakh rupees.

Note: The payment of 10 lakh rupees is the maximum when you transfer using online net banking but if you use NEFT to transfer money by going to the branch, you can also pay more than 10 lakhs.

How To Transfer Money Through NEFT?

If you want to transfer money online through NEFT, then you should have the facility of Net Banking.

Let me explain to you the complete process by taking the example of SBI Bank’s Net Banking, just you have to follow it step by step.

1. First of all, you have to search SBI Net Banking on Google and click on the SBI Net Banking website.

2. Now you have to fill in your login details such as User Name and Password.

NOTE: To transfer money online from NEFT, first of all, you have to add Beneficiary details, whose process is as follows.

3. Now you have to go to the option of Payment / Transfers, here you will see two options.

  • Within SBI
  • Outside SBI

Within SBI means that your account is also in SBI and the person to whom you want to transfer money also has an account in SBI.

Outside SBI means that your account is in SBI but the person to whom you want to transfer money has an account in a different bank than SBI.

Now it depends on you that in which type of account you want to transfer money to. I consider that if you want to transfer money to Outside SBI, then you have to click on the Outside SBI Option, after that you have to select the option of NEFT and click on Proceed

4. Now if you are transferring money to a person for the first time, then you have to add him as a Beneficiary to your account and if you have already made someone a Beneficiary once, then his details will be saved in the Beneficiary List forever. You just have to select it from there, you have to enter the amount you want to send and define the purpose and after verifying the OTP by clicking on submit, the money will go to his account.

But if you are sending money to someone for the first time, then you have to click on Add New Beneficiary, and you will be asked for Profile Password. Enter password.

5. Now you have to enter the details of the person in whose account you want to send money such as Name, Account No, Address, Transfer Limit, and IFSC Code and click on Submit and confirm the details.

6. Now you will get an option of Approve Now, which you have made Beneficiary, you will have to approve it. As soon as you click on the option of Approve Now, you will be asked for Profile Password, you have to enter your Profile Password and submit it.

7. Now you have to choose how you want to approve the Beneficiary.

  • Through OTP
  • Through ATM

If You choose to approve Beneficiary by the top then whatever mobile number is attached to your bank account, you will get OTP on it, you have to put that OTP here and click on Approve.

8. In this way your Beneficiary will be added. Once the Beneficiary is added, you will be able to transfer money from it.

9. Go back to the option of Payments / Transfers, there you have to go to the option of Other Bank Transfer.

After this, you have to select the account of the Beneficiary you have added, enter the amount and select I Accept Terms and Conditions, click on Submit, verify OTP and your money will be transferred.

How to get the money back if online money is transferred to the wrong account?

I will answer this question through an incident that happened to me.

I gave money to my friend to transfer and by mistake, it transferred to another account, then what do I do?

I went to my bank and gave full information to them that what has happened. On inquiry by the bank, it came to know that the money has gone to another person’s account open in the same bank.

The bank asked me to write an application in which it was written that by mistake the money has gone to your account and if you agree, then the bank will withdraw the money from your account and send it to the right account.

Bank gave the address of that person and I reached out to that person and told them the whole thing, then he signed and I deposited that application in the bank, after that the bank transferred the money to the correct account.

This is a description of an incident that happened to me, apart from this, what other steps you can take are as follows.

If you have transferred money to another person’s account by mistake, then first of all go to your bank. Find out from whose account you have transferred money.

Now go to the bank of the person in whose account the money has been transferred.

You can get money if you give proof of transfer of money by mistake.

Report the whole matter to the police. A copy of the FIR will have to be submitted to the bank.

The bank will check your withdrawn money based on the FIR.

If any kind of fraud has happened to you, then you will get your full money back.
